This is a hard time to be a human, particularly one who feels deeply and wants to make the world a better place. Who loves the Church but sees how it’s getting in its own way. Who needs rest and space to live further into God’s image but is caught up in the demands of work and life. We could all benefit from ways to increase our wellbeing, but it is just one more task on the mental pile to come up with those steps.
That is why I have put together a quick start guide of simple actions we can take when we are feeling the strain. I have used Martin Seligman’s PERMA model, designed to amplify what is good in and around us while turning down the volume on all that is dragging us down. For each issue there is an assessment question (i.e., is this the problem you’re encountering?), an encouragement that you are not alone, strategies, and space for you to write your own ideas. I recommend that you print it out and keep it handy for when you need a boost. Click the link below the images to access the printable PDF.
